How can students use NewsREAD?

Students do not need to complete every section at once. These five steps provide a clear way to begin, revisit and apply each edition.

Each NewsREAD edition follows a structured learning journey. Students can first build a broad understanding, then focus more deeply on the sections that will help them most.

Understand the theme

Start with the Theme Overview, related sub-topics and infographic to gain a broad understanding of the issue.

Build your bank of ideas

Choose one or two current-affairs examples and consider what happened, why the example matters and which writing or oral topics it could support.
