Five Simple Steps
How can students use NewsREAD?
Students can work through each edition progressively. They do not need to complete every section at once.
Understand the theme
Start with the Theme Overview, related sub-topics and infographic to gain a broad understanding of the issue.
Build your bank of ideas
Choose one or two current-affairs examples and consider what happened, why the example matters and which writing or oral topics it could support.
Study how the ideas are applied
Review an annotated writing or oral example. Notice how the response develops the idea, uses relevant examples and applies EduEdge's structures and techniques.
Invest in your vocabulary
Select three useful words or phrases from the W.I.S.E. section and practise using each one in a sentence of your own.
Try one examination question
Choose one suggested writing or oral question and plan how you would respond using what you have learnt.
